Bend, Oregon

This morning we went on a leisurely stroll through Kipp’s neighborhood before heading to the Downtown Bend Library which has quite an expansive children’s section. Jonny got a few hours of work done in the van while I read and played with the kids.

I was reading books to Xiomara and Kaleo as other kids played around us. After they left, Xiomara stopped me mid book and asked me to wait.

“I’m going to move this room back to how it was. There, that’s better.”

She came back and sat down, then asked me to keep reading.

In the afternoon we stopped by Thump Coffee at The Grove to capture some content of Miles at work. We enjoyed meeting his manager, Shane, and his dad, Andrew. Great service, delicious drinks, and warm conversation long after Miles was done working. We tried a lavender lemonade, iced lavender latte, and a caramel Italian soda. All were super yummy!

Later in the afternoon Jonny had a shoot with Kipp at Oregon Adaptive Sports. He dropped the kids and I off at the Old Mill District then headed to his shoot. We walked along the Deschutes River Trail to the Bend Whitewater Park and over to OAS. We arrived at OAS before Jonny was done with his shoot so we sat outside the van and played with some toys. It might seem that we are always in super scenic spots, but here is proof that we do find ourselves spending chunks of time in places like rest stops and parking lots. I anticipate there will be lots more of this type of hang out in our future. While we were waiting for Jonny, I turned around to discovered Kaleo with his pants down, peeing. Perhaps our kids are just a little too comfortable going to the bathroom in nature. . . or in urban areas. At least Kaleo knows his body and no longer wets his pants.
